Today the World Farmers’ Organisation hosted in its Headquarters the Finnish delegation of the UN Youth Programme, to confront on issues related to global agriculture and to share visions and opportunities.
The visit started with a presentation of our Organisation, then was the guys’ turn talking about their background and interests. Subsequently our work was explained to the delegation, how we push it forward and all the activities related, Q&A followed.
Many the issues addressed: climate change, food security, trade, our engagement in the most important international fora etc. Particular attention was given to women and young farmers, crucial themes of international politics and, obviously, of our work.
The delegates participate United Nation General Assembly and to various functional Commissions of the Economic and Social Council. The Programme started in 2016 with the aim to include young people all over the world in decision-making, one of the key priority areas of the United Nation agenda on youth.
