World Farmers’ Organisation at UNGA73

A delegation of the World Farmers’ Organisation (WFO), led by the President, Dr Theo De Jager, joined the General Debate 73rd Session of the UN General Assembly, in New York.

This is the occasion for world leaders to gather at UN Headquarters for one week to discuss global issues, with a particular emphasis on sustainable development goals, climate change and human rights.

The WFO delegation took part in several high-level meetings and panels, bringing to the table the farmers’ perspectives on critical issues, such as agricultural data, responsible consumption and production, conflict-induced hunger, family farmers’ challenges and opportunities, availability and sustainable management of water and clean energy, climate change.

A special focus on the several conferences that involved WFO delegation during the General Assembly high-level week will be available on our website in the next few days.
