Internship Program The Secondment Programme
internship Career Development

WFO internship program is designed for students and young professionals.

WFO internships provide an opportunity to complement educational and professional experience by working in an international environment.

With a view to strengthening collaboration with member organisations and partners, the WFO is offering opportunities for the secondment of human resources to the WFO International Secretariat in Rome. The Secondment Programme is a technical cooperation programme that enables professional staff to gain in-field training as well as to obtain work experience at the WFO for a period of time, which may vary from 6 months to 3 years, according to the profile that donors agree to support (internship, fellow, Seconded Professional Officer (SPO).

Furthermore, it allows professional staff who wish to pursue an international career to acquire on-the-job professional experience, which may lead to future career development inside or outside the WFO, their organisations of origin or the international field.

This initiative is open to staff of entities from the private and public sector, working on agriculture, who may be interested in working closely with famers’ organisations for a limited period of time. Staff may work on a specific project of interest for their organisation of origin or participate in the general daily activities of the Secretariat.
