WFO joins the 14th WTO Ministerial Conference

14th WTO Ministerial Conference (MC14)

The WTO’s 14th Ministerial Conference (MC14) will take place from 26 to 29 March 2026 in Yaoundé, Cameroon. Ministers from across the world will attend the Conference to discuss the challenges and opportunities facing the multilateral trading system and to take action on the future work of the World Trade Organisation (WTO).

A delegation from the World Farmers’ Organisation (WFO), led by President Arnold Puech d’Alissac, will participate in the conference. The delegation will include experts from WFO member farmers’ organisations: Bodhild Fjelltveit and Hildegunn Gjengedal from Norges Bondelag — with Gjengedal recently appointed facilitator of the WFO Working Group on International Trade, Yves Ruel from the Canadian Federation of Agriculture (CFA-FCA), Klaas Johan Osinga from the Dutch Agriculture and Horticulture Association (LTO), Prince Fataki from the Réseau pour la Sécurité et la Souveraineté Alimentaire en République Démocratique du Congo (RESSAC), and Paul Zakariya from Zimbabwe Farmers Union (ZFU). WFO Secretary General Andrea Porro will also join the delegation.

They will closely follow developments in the agricultural negotiations and engage in bilateral meetings with WTO representatives and relevant stakeholders.

Ahead of MC14, WFO released its official Statement outlining farmers’ priorities for WTO agricultural trade negotiations and reaffirming its commitment to a fair, predictable and rules-based multilateral trading system that enables farmers to compete, invest and contribute to global food security.

Further updates will be shared during the Conference.
