World Farmers' Organisation joins COP30 in Brazil

2025 United Nations Climate Change Conference (UNFCCC COP 30)

The 2025 United Nations Climate Change Conference (UNFCCC COP 30) will take place from 10 to 21 November in Belém, Brazil.

This year’s Conference comes at a critical moment, as climate change continues to affect every country and continent, disrupting economies and livelihoods and making urgent climate action more pressing than ever.

Over twelve days, world leaders, negotiators, government representatives, and key stakeholders will gather to assess progress and strengthen collective efforts to address the global climate crisis.

In a joint effort with the UNFCCC Farmers’ Constituency, which it coordinates, the World Farmers’ Organisation (WFO) will take an active role at COP 30, ensuring that agriculture and farmers’ voices remain central in the discussions.

The WFO and its fellow farmers’ organisations will jointly call on world leaders and policymakers in Belém to align climate goals with farmers’ realities, ensure fair and inclusive access to finance, translate NDCs 3.0 into tangible actions, and recognise the unique contribution of agriculture within the Global Goal on Adaptation. They will also underline the importance of scaling up mitigation efforts and keeping agriculture negotiations forward-looking. To learn more, read the official UNFCCC Farmers’ Constituency Joint Statement for COP 30.

Throughout COP 30, WFO and its delegates will actively engage in key sessions and panels. The WFO will also host the official side event “Restoring Land, Rebuilding Value: Farmer-Led Solutions for Climate, Soil, and Food Security,” which will explore how inclusive collaboration — built on the strength of farmers’ organisations, and supported by innovative partnerships, enabling policies, and finance — can scale land restoration, boost rural economies, and create lasting value for people and the planet. Please refer to the event list below for a comprehensive overview of the events where WFO will contribute their perspectives and expertise.
