54th Plenary Session of the Committee on World Food Security (CFS54)
The 54th Plenary Session of the Committee on World Food Security (CFS54) will take place from 19 to 23 October 2026 at the headquarters of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) in Rome. Every year, the event brings together governments, civil society, the private sector, and international organisations to address pressing global food security and nutrition challenges.
Key agenda items include the presentation of the 2026 State of Food Security and Nutrition (SOFI) report and the outcomes of the CFS High-Level Forum on advancing AI, digitalisation and data governance for food security and nutrition. The Plenary will also feature a Global Thematic Event on Empowering Family Farmers.
The World Farmers’ Organisation (WFO) will be present to reaffirm farmers’ central role in achieving sustainable global food security and nutrition, and to advocate for the involvement of farmers and their organisations in decision-making on food security measures at local, regional, national and global levels.
