69th Session of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW69)
The Sixty-ninth Session of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW69) will take place from 10 to 21 March 2025, at the UN headquarters in New York, USA. Bringing together global leaders, policymakers, and civil society representatives, CSW69 will focus on accelerating progress towards gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls, with an emphasis on assessing the implementation and advancing commitments under the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action.
Representing the World Farmers’ Organisation (WFO), Tamisha Lee, President of the Jamaica Network of Rural Women Producers (JNRWP) and member of the WFO Committee on Women, will ensure that the perspectives of women farmers are heard in key discussions.
Beyond its presence in New York, WFO will also contribute to CSW69 side events, reinforcing its commitment to advocating for rural women in agriculture:
- 13 March (08:30–10:30 EDT) – Giulia De Castro, WFO Youth & Women Liaison & Initiatives Manager, will join the virtual side event “Global Leadership of Grassroots Women Co-Operators in the UN Year of Cooperatives”, organised by WFO Member Indian Cooperative Network for Women (ICNW).
- 19 March (11:30–12:45 EDT) – Tamisha Lee will speak at “From Learning to Leading: Youth Perspectives on Empowering Young Women in Agrifood Systems through Education and Training”, hosted by WFF’s Global Youth Action Initiative.
