Global Forum for Food and Agriculture (GFFA) 2025
From 15 to 18 January 2025, the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture (BMEL) will host the annual Global Forum for Food and Agriculture (GFFA) in Berlin, Germany. This renowned four-day international conference brings together leading experts from politics, business, science, and civil society to exchange ideas on central issues of global agricultural and food policies.
The GFFA 2025 will focus on the main theme of “Farming a Sustainable Bioeconomy”, exploring solutions to create a sustainable bioeconomy. Discussions will address its critical role in strengthening food security, combating the aggravating climate crisis, boosting innovation, and providing fair framework conditions for a sustainable bioeconomy.
For the ninth consecutive year, a delegation of young farmers from the World Farmers’ Organisation (WFO) will be actively participating in the GFFA International Young Farmers’ Forum, an event annually convening more than 20 young farmers from all continents in Berlin. This year’s WFO delegation includes Martin Murray (NFF, Australia), Rafael Riedel (CNA, Brazil), Mologadi Madisha (AFASA, South Africa), and Nyaradzo Mutande (ZFU, Zimbabwe) – all students from the 4th edition of the WFO Gymnasium High-level Capacity Building Programme.
The young farmers will share insights from their experiences on their farms and within their national farmers’ organisations. Two representatives from the group will present a common statement on the GFFA 2025 theme during the Berlin Agriculture Ministers’ Conference on Saturday, 18 January 2025.
Additionally, WFO President Arnold Puech d’Alissac will be in Berlin to engage in the discussion and meet with the WFO Members and partners attending the GFFA.
