Global Forum for Food and Agriculture (GFFA) 2026
From 14 to 17 January 2026, the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture (BMEL) will host the annual Global Forum for Food and Agriculture (GFFA) in Berlin, Germany. This renowned four-day international conference brings together leading experts from politics, business, science, and civil society to exchange ideas on central issues of global agricultural and food policies.
The GFFA 2026 will focus on the main theme of “Water. Harvests. Our Future,” putting the topic of water and food security at the top of the international agenda. Discussions will explore how to use water sustainably, strengthen the blue bioeconomy, address competing demands, and improve international water governance.
For the tenth consecutive year, a delegation of young farmers from the World Farmers’ Organisation (WFO) will be actively participating in the GFFA International Young Farmers’ Forum, which annually convenes in Berlin more than 20 young farmers from all regions of the world. This year’s WFO delegation includes Lucas Vidal Podestá (Sociedad Rural Argentina (SRA), Argentina), David Charles Newcombe (Canadian Federation of Agriculture (CFA), Canada) from the 4th edition of the WFO Gymnasium High-level Capacity Building Programme and Simon Donald Roy Cameron (Federated Farmers, New Zealand).
The young farmers will bring their perspectives from the fields and from within their national farmers’ organisations. Two delegates will deliver a joint statement on the GFFA 2026 theme during the Berlin Agriculture Ministers’ Conference on Saturday, 17 January 2026.
Additionally, WFO President Arnold Puech d’Alissac will be in Berlin to attend the GFFA Agriculture Ministers’ Conference, engage in the discussions, and meet with WFO Members and partners participating in the Forum.
