The Second Meeting of the Sub-Regional Farmers’ Forum for Eastern Europe and Central Asia (FAFO-ECA), organised by the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), will take place in Kastamonu, Türkiye, on 15 April 2026. The meeting will convene regional stakeholders to foster dialogue, share knowledge, and strengthen collaboration, focusing on priority areas for the next Global Farmers’ Forum in 2028.

On 13–14 April 2026, prior to the FAFO-ECA meeting, the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry of Türkiye (MoAF) and IFAD will co-host the International Workshop with Farmers’ Organizations. As part of South-South and Triangular Cooperation (SSTC) initiatives, the workshop will mark the launch of a series of policy discussions and activities to advance shared learning on issues central to farmers’ organisations and cooperatives.

The World Farmers’ Organisation (WFO) — an active member of the FAFO Steering Committee since 2016 —  will be represented by the Secretary General Andrea Porro, together with Tamar Toria, Executive Director of the Georgian Farmers’ Association and Facilitator of the WFO Climate Change Working Group.
