WFO Webinar “Women Farmers at the Heart of Food Security”
Within the framework of the International Year of the Woman Farmer 2026, the World Farmers’ Organisation (WFO) will host a webinar, “Women Farmers at the Heart of Food Security,” on 23 July 2026 at 12:00–13:30 CEST, to highlight women farmers’ contribution to food security and sustainable agrifood systems.
The event will launch a broader series of discussions organised by the WFO Food Security Working Group, aimed at fostering dialogue, sharing experiences, and promoting evidence-based solutions to key food security issues affecting farmers worldwide.
Taking place shortly after the release of FAO’s 2026 State of Food Security and Nutrition in the World (SOFI) Report, the webinar will offer an opportunity to reflect on the latest evidence and discuss how strengthening women’s empowerment in agriculture can contribute to achieving food security at local, national, and global levels.
The webinar will: highlight the role of women farmers in food security and nutrition; respond to findings from the 2026 SOFI Report; showcase good practices from farmers’ organisations across regions; and foster dialogue on pathways to strengthen women’s contribution to food security.
