Rome, Italy, March 27th – The 2020 edition of the WFO General Assembly has been suspended. This years’ obligations will take place digitally, while the physical gathering has been postponed to the same venue in 2021.

Originally scheduled from June 27th to 30th, 2020, the event will take place in late spring 2021 at the same location in Minnesota in the US, hoping all the concerns over the virus and its spreading will have been resolved at that point.

The WFO Board of Directors decided to postpone the physical gathering considering the ongoing coronavirus pandemic that is spreading up to almost every country in the world.

The WFO General Assembly represents a unique gathering for the worldwide farmers’ community. It annually convenes farmers’ leaders from all over the world, high-level representatives of international organisations, governments, private sector entities and civil society. They meet to discuss, share and exchange visions and ideas on challenges and opportunities characterising the agricultural sector at the global level.

The 2021 edition will be a special event as will celebrate the 10th anniversary of the World Farmers’ Organisation.
