On January 27th and 28th, the National Smallholder Farmers Association of Malawi (NASFAM) hosted the 23rd Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Lilongwe, Malawi.

Under the theme “Building a sustainable agribusiness that delivers value and creates impact”, farmer participants from across the country came together to join the debate.

The event featured the participation of the Minister of Agriculture, Irrigation and Water Development, Kondwani Nakhumwa, who presided over the meeting, as well as the President of the World Farmers’ Organisation (WFO), Theo de Jager.
The AGM represented, above all, the launch event of the Strategic Development Plan which will guide the NASFAM’s activities over the next five year.

Furthermore, the AGM coincided with the launch of a new project, supported by the Irish Government, to boost NASFAM’s quality management systems through the construction of a laboratory. The lab will help NASFAM go a notch higher in quality management for all its products.
