Today, the new group of young farmers attending the  WFO Gymnasium High- Level Capacity Building Programme convened digitally for the official start of the 2020 – 2022 edition of the training program.

The meeting featured the participation of the WFO President, Theo de Jager, and Ronald Guendel Gonzalez, Global Head of Food Security Strategy & Advocacy at Bayer AG, as well as the WFO Secretary General and Staff responsible for the program.

Exceptional guests in the meeting were the WFO Gymnasium Alumni who welcomed the new group of young farmers telling their positive and inspiring experience as participants in the first edition.

Young farmers had the opportunity to introduce themselves and share their expectations on the course.

A very intense month of November is waiting for this new group of active young farmers, among online training sessions (19, 25, 26 and 27 November) and the opportunity to attend as WFO delegates the event “Bold Actions for Food as a Force for Good” (23-24 November), the pre-event co-hosted by WFO with WEF, WBCSD, GAIN, Rabobank, Wageningen University, IFAD, UNILEVER and PepsiCo in preparations of the 2021 United Nations Food Systems Summit.

Launched in 2017, in close partnership with Bayer, the WFO Gymnasium is much more than a training program: it represents a unique opportunity to connect and empower the farmers’ leaders of tomorrow!

From the WFO International Secretariat, welcome on board, guys.

Let this new adventure begin!
