On September 24th, Mr Sok Sotha, Vice-President of Cambodian Farmers Association – Federation of Agricultural Producers (CFAP), Cambodia, as Representative for the WFO Asian Constituency, attended the session “Nature for Prosperity”, enriching the debate with his experience from living and working on the land and with nature.

The meeting hosted by OP2B coalition (One Planet Business for Biodiversity) was part of the four-day “Nature for Life Hub” virtual event organised by UNDP, UNEP and C during the 75th UN General Assembly and the UN Climate Action Week.

In the context of the “Nature for Life Hub” virtual event, WFO contribution to the debate also included a short video message from the President Theo de Jager, highlighting the farmers’ vision on why and how nature-based solutions are an essential strategy for mitigating climate change. “We, farmers, are the ones with our fingers in the soil – our livelihoods depend on nature!“, he stated.
