“The most important issue for farmers is the ownership of data. Farmers need to trust the source of data and the end user of the data. Who will use the data and what will they use it for? The relationship of trust needs to be cultivated”. With these words Theo de Jager, President of the World Farmers’ Organization (WFO), addressed the attendees that, from May 15th to 17th , gathered in Rome, Italy, for EXCO 2019, the first expo dedicated to the innovative solutions provided by the actors of development cooperation, namely national and international agencies, governments, financial institutions, civil society and in particular, the private sector.
